DAY TWELVE - LOST DISTILLERY CO. - Gerston
Nose: light and malty with buttery vanilla, toffee and subtle fruity notes of tropical fruits. After a few seconds, some spices appear as well as a gentle cloud of smoke and a pleasant briny aroma.
Palate: quite frank, although well-balanced with plenty of honey, plum brandy, apricot jam and something mineral in the background - Not to forget the peaty/smoky twist, still very present. Wonderfully delicious chocolatey notes also appear after a wee while swirling the liquid in the mouth, making it a perfect dram for the festive season!
Finish: elegant and still powerful with spices and dark chocolate.
Food Pairing: pear & roquefort tart.
